When I was 13, I used to believe that reading comic books is a very silly use of time. It does not enrich the mind, the language used is simple and there is absolutely not a good use of time.
Then, my friends started reading comic books in class after the prelims in Sec 4. Out of boredom and much persuasion from one comic addict, I started reading 'Dragon Balls'. Gosh. Hooked!
I haven't read any since I moved out of Toa Payoh 3 years ago. Lately, Kinokuniya bookshop has 20% discount. Hence, I bought some. My interest always have to do with ethnic costumes or culture. And I learnt much about Noh Theatre practioners through the 'Noh Youth' comic book (on right in picture)
Do you know that black hair is the accepted norm in the performing group culture?
Do you know that the Noh performers could hardly see behind their masks?
