Dinner!!!

Wow, today, I have fishball, fish and beans.

And there's black glutinous rice soup... Ha ha... Translation makes the food sound funny

managing the mess

I have many fashion magazines from Japan, literary magazines from China and National Geographic.

Hence it stacked up to a messy height. This giddy mess was solved by the baskets from Ikea!!!

It's expensive though. Each costs $29.

Bad style

I used to take my hats off to the Japanese women for their fashion style. No matter what they wear, they'll never look too dowdy. Truly amazing

I guess I did have some influence from them in getting my confidence in wearing whatever I want ;)

I did read more Japanese magazines than any other magazines. and I read them with more intensity as I hope to learn the language well. And I do love their layout too

Inspiring wall

This is the photo on the cover of a card. And this card was one in a box sold at Ikea.

All these tiny knick knacks made life interesting

SGD 6000 for world vision

Kim Hyun Jung autographed the lifesize posters and auction the two of them. The first one fetched a price of $6000. I could feel the tension as the price rises, some people can't help but'wow' when the auction reaches the $1000 mark. At $6000, kim finally spoke, "It's good that you are doing good, but no need to push yourself too hard."

I'm glad he said that. I was getting worried myself. Where are these people going to get the cash from? Or they are going into credit bill?

The second piece went off at $6686. And Kim himself said he would donate $6686 himself too. So children with aids at World vision receive a total of $19,372.00 because of three Kim Hyun Jungs. And all these in less than ten minutes.

Pop idol frenzy frightens me.

Nosey nosey

This is my terrible secret. I hate to admit that I'm a material girl.

Never admitted how much I love to collect perfumes. Solid perfumes, floral, woody, musky scents...

I really don't want to spend this much on scents. I shall vow here that I won't spend a single scent on perfume in the month of Dec and the year 2011.

I know my scents may last a lifetime so I should say I won't buy any perfumes for as long as I live. But hey, be merciful to an addict ya

I will try to succeed in the coming 13 months.

Postcard from Hakone

Ever been greeted by the lovely green mountains of Japan when you open your eyes on your bed?

It's not impossible for me who has travelled to Japan six times. However, I am not in Japan today. It's the second morning in my new abode. I checked my phone to see what time it is and ta!da! Hakone mountains from Japan greeted me. What better way for a friend to say 'good morning' from overseas....

我是幸福的

Dedicated to Bernice

Have you dedicated minutes to a person? I'm sure you have - it happens when you shop for a gift, when you explain a concept to a child or when you teach your parent how to use the computer.

Today, I needed to adhere to an emergency - Mad Pants Search 2010. Stuck at a toilet which has poor reception, it was tough to get the preference from her. Oh, but we managed to talk about size before the reception failed us. And so Espirit denim calf-length pants saved the day at $49.90. The brown corduroy material has no stock for the size we needed.

Mission accomplished at 2pm :) We left the emergency room happily ever after.

7 minutes

I got a clothes rack for free when I bought the standing iron. It came in a box without instructions.

Now, I'm a person who browse through instructions whenever I buy an electronic item. I even read the safety instructions at every flight. I feel uncomfortable when I bought a blackberry phone and there was no instructions!

Thus, I am very pleased to assemble these parts in 7 minutes :)

First trolley on travellator

With my own space, I need clothes hanger, hangers, dish detergent, sponge, broom, iron, drainer and two baskets for my toilet :)

They're all in this trolley. My first reason to use the travellator for items all my own! It's somehow affirming and freeing...
