Kathy's Wedding

I've finally come of age. I actually requested not to help out at a wedding in pre-wedding preparation.

All my friend's wedding I've always had a hand. But this year, I live at the end of the island and started a new job. And I think there's too much roles to look at as ICs.

In the end, Kathy had enough help and I was totally and completely a guest. She was gracious. And happy. And I thank God.

We are trusted

19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Christmas in Raffles City

One week ago, Lerk Thai restaurant waiters are all in Santa's hats.
This week, most shops have Christmas themes. And Robinsons have made two golden reindeers. :)

Like a moth to the Flame

My infatuation with scented candles started much later than what my friend hoped to inspire in me. I was given a scented candle when I was 15 years old. I didn't fall in love with that mystic flame then.

A few Christmases ago, I walked to my favourite Ginger body range displayed in Robinsons (raffles city). At Origins, that was the first time I found out that my favourite scent comes in candle form. Enticed by the scent, I bought the candle without any idea of what I'm gonna do about it. You see, I have no room of my own. And if my mum found out that I spent a few ten dollar notes on ONE candle, I would likely perish like the candle wax of a litted candle. Not a very desirable prospect.

I finally lit my candle this year. All inspired by the fact that the odour after cooking lingered in my hostel apartment. And the smell did not completely disappear after I lit the candle for 8 hours.

I was then inspired to look for more potent candles or other forms of home fragrances. I am delighted to see the candles going on 50% sale at Crabtree & Evelyn. And best of all, Shanghai Tang has the scent I've been yearning for since I walked past Tiffany & Co as well as Shanghai Tang. Now 'ginger flower' is mine!

Season of Spanish

Counting down to one month and four days to take off to Peru.

Last saturday was the end of the 20 hour elementary Spanish Class. And I've decided to create a vocab book for useful phrases for traveling. But a colleague told me that there's such a thing lonely planet phrase book!

I then noticed it - the entire row in Popular bookshop. In the end, I got something else - berlitz series has CD :) that helped me to decide to spend 10 dollars more to get Berlitz :)

Uno se despide insensiblemente

y entonces comprendes
como están de ausentes las cosas queridas.

Por eso muchacho no partas ahora
soñando el regreso
que el amor es simple
y a las cosas simples
las devora el tiempo.

ENGLISH

One says goodbye to gradually
little things
the same as a tree in autumn time
it dies by its leaves.

After the sadness is the slow death
simple things
those simple things
that you are hurting in the heart.

One always comes back to the old sites
in that loved life
and then to understand
as it stands of absent beloved.

Why boy not Parthian now
Dreaming the return
love is simple
and the simple things
the gulps down time.
