exciting after Beijing Olympics

PEIKING (" o)

I've bought air ticket to BEIJING!

What will I see or eat, I know not. But I'm sure going to spend Christmas in Beijing! I would never have gone there if the transit to Xining, Qinghai is not so necessary.

China Air will be my official airline

Wallpaper and Dengue

It was dengue that relegated me to three different wallpapers in the last twelve days.

First, Tan Tock Seng Hospital
Second, National University Hospital
Third, Shannon's bedroom

Weakness. Rest. Magazines.

Last Sighting by Peirce Camera

I wore this pair of shoes for staff photo shoot today. Ironic that it is the first time I wear these shoes and it's my last staff photo shoot.

The first shall be the last... How memorable.

Today, I reaped much. A new friend who came from China, nice compliment about how trendy I am, gotten 60% subsidy for students' $1,508 China trip, and gotten Jon to go to China with us and NCC.

Everyday, there's so much to celebrate and yet a single little event could alter the entire mood. Nothing happened to dampen my spirits today, but I do wonder at how easily one unhappy turn of events could spoil much of my day. I need to celebrate so that I could be there for those who celebrate even less than I do...

Truly, His grace is sufficient for me.

Sleep

Mr Roland, a well-respected and eloquent teacher in my primary school once asked, "Do you know how much we sleep in a lifetime?"

ONE-THIRD of our lives, we sleep it away.

Since then, sleeping was such a waste of time that I tried to sleep as little as I could. To date, I still find pleasure in sleeping at unearthly hours (3 or 4am). However, I also long to wake up late nowadays.

Sleep is important. I reackon that. But a life without routine still attracts. Me.

A New Adventure

Wanting a new environment is no crime but why does it sound like a weaker excuse to change job?

I've shifted so I'll need a work place nearer to home, I need a pay rise or even I have a better job prospect seem to be much more valid. They somehow point to a precise and practical ambition which Singaporeans are accustomed to.

I am teaching at a different venue for the sole reason of having a different environment. No pay rise, no familiar faces and in fact, I'll need to travel further.

But I am excited. I'm going to learn!

D is for Dessert

Walked from Golden Mile to Bugis ... It rained, so we stopped to have chinese. Dessert. The usually crowded eatery has one empty table! I ordered a bowl of hot almond and ginko nut. Yummy...

What's cute in plaza sing

From round lollipops to pretty hairbands!

Been looking for pretty pastel coloured hairbands and all these are sweetie pies! Comfortable on the head too. The elastic band stretches and rests prettily on the head. Fabric is cotton so it does not slip off the head. Great product made in Istanbul.

Muack!

A blessing each day

Everyday, I'm blessed. This is called selective view of life.

I could have said 'everyday, someone contributes to the ugliness in my life'.

But truly, I'm blessed today again. I rushed to the bank without my card for withdrawal of cash but I brought my IC. My face screwed into a frown, then my hand scratched the wrinkles on my forehead when I realised how much time I'm going to spend just to go home to get the card.

The teller offered me an alternative, to replace the card. All I needed to do was to destroy the card left at home.

I'm over the rainbow, shot through cloud nine and felt good. Her people-centred service has saved me many trips :)
