Quiet Satisfaction

I have come away from Alice's house feeling very satisfied. Affirmation of my ability to teach Literature is clear when she said, "Please don't take any students until we call you in January."

I reached the hostel 10 minutes before 8pm. With a hot cup of chinese tea(gift from a colleague who has many types of tea as gifts), I sat down to enjoy the night. 10 minutes before I am to walk around the hostel to do my duty :)

like a teapot

I'd never thought that I would buy such an expensive teapot in Singapore. I thought that I would always be able to get a good teapot when I travel to China. But I've never found a teapot which I fell in love with overseas.

Here I am with a a teapot made of a clay mixture which has a secretive mineral. The repeat firing and oxidisation gave its texture. And of course, it's said to improve water quality. And true enough, my tea does taste better! Totally worth $152.00.

Completely handmade goods... my soft spot.

Happy Teacher's Day to me!

33-36 degree celsius

Had the free city tour (well, i've paid for it technically, part of my GROUPON Voucher package) on the first morning at Siem Reap.

After being in the sun with only three gulps of water, I'm parched. The moment I sat down in this restaurant in Pub Street, I ordered a glass of pineapple juice. To my horror, it came in a glass not longer than my thumb. Well, that's a very expensive pineapple they have sacrificed. I gulped the entire USD1.25 worth of juice with much less gratitude than i could muster.

A few minutes later, the glass of juice you saw in the picture landed on my table.

Ha! The previous one was a welcome drink

Lifelessness

a thought struck me.

On the escalator, as the automated steps carry me down a short distance between platform and waiting bay, the thought settled on the bedrock of my mind gently but firmly.

I'm frustrated by lifeless people.

How do I define 'lifeless'?

Frankly, I'm still grappling with it. Perhaps...

It's the incapacity to embrace diversity

The placid acceptance that he/ she is ordinary

The stagnant hopelessness of having nothing unusual in the morrow

And each day, they depend on what they used to know, used to do and the people they used to be with to make conversations or decisions

There is nothing new, nothing else

There is no growth, no discovery

And when such people becomes a part of your life, your difference, your hopes and your adventures become their envy, their disapproval and quiet burden...

That tires me out too...

Wow... I'm surprised how thoughts fly so gently in, and take root so quickly...

Truly, only God's love could make each human being tolerate or even celebrate close contact with another

petals and Hare

Was browsing in IKEA in the first week of 2012. How could I resist such pretty table runner and box! The floral box is supposed to be for buns and bread :)

The box with a lid of leaves is from a good friend who came back from Thailand while the hand sanitiser was received from a Japanese friend when I visited a police post through his contact. And the newest edition is the scheduler! It's so sweet!

It's a blossomy new year!
