Rebuking in Class

Sometimes a student would blurt unkind remarks in class about an individual. It could be in reference to the child's name, or his physical weight or even skin colour. And the rest of the class laughs in derision at the remark.

Naturally, I would put on the stern look, raise my voice and say we do not laugh at people because of our differences, or something of that effect. The class would stop their joviality immediately in most (99%) cases.

Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke a discerning man, and he will gain knowledge.
Proverbs 19:25

Rebuke must have its place in society. May love and joy prevail.
